WHO ARE WE?
We are 3 families who wanted to make a place that we would like to hang out in and gave us an excuse to leave our day jobs!! Two of us - Ils (Iliya Hastings) and Undies (Andrew Dykstra) had both brewed and had a bit of fun and success at an amateur level. We brought in Browny (Aaron Brown),who had 20 years experience running great kitchens through Australia and New Zealand as the final cog. With the awesome support and guidance of our amazing wives (Kirra, Breeza and Sandy) who were integral to the planning and set up, the six of us set about making it happen over the course of about 7 years. We cracked doors in January 2016, houses on the line, hoping like hell someone came through the door.
Now we are much more. We have great staff who along with loyal customers have created a Brewhouse family.
WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?
Community is pretty much everything to us. We are part of our community and have lived here for a long time. We support everything from schools, footy clubs, to environmental groups and fundraisers for all sorts of causes. Being part of a community means going through the ups, downs and everything in between – together. We just have a place where people can do that over a beer and where everyone is welcome.
Of course we also provide an important employment base for about 40 staff as well as using a raft of local suppliers. Being in town and having a relaxed outdoor space and a welcoming culture we have tended to find that the community has found us - and embraced the venue as a great spot to meet up with friends and family. Being recognised in the Community section of the Top 50 Brewpubs in Australia was pretty cool, though unexpected given we are pretty low key. But yep – we love our community.
IN GOOD HANDS
Our business motto is ‘In Good Hands’. From the second you walk through our door, we will look after you. We will find you a nice place to plant your bum, we will give you great value for money food that ranks up there with any restaurant in the region AND you can enjoy a massive range of beers straight from the brewery.
We started Margaret River Brewhouse to see people happy – that’s all you really need in hospitality – respect every person coming through your door and be happy that they are happy.
